Experienced and Friendly ACT and Writing tutor- Williams College grad

I graduated from Williams College in MA as an English major, and have two years of experience working in educational publishing as an editor/writer. So far, I've tutored students in ACT prep, SAT prep, and college-essay writing. I'm currently finishing up a postbac pre-health program at Northwestern, where I'll go next year for physical therapy school.

I grew up in Wilmette, IL and went to high school at New Trier, where I participated in varsity gymnastics and softball, diving, was a member of the J. Kyle Braid leadership program, and was a writing center tutor.

I am available to tutor at the Wilmette library (or within walking distance) evenings during the week, or near CTA purple, red, or brown lines.

ACT Reading

I scored a 35 on the reading portion of the ACT, and have experience tutoring students on this section. Many students struggle with time on the reading section, so in addition to helping them answer questions correctly, I try to make sure they get to answer as many questions as possible. I help students learn to skim effectively and develop strategies for saving time on the test.

ACT English

I scored a 36 on the English portion of the ACT, and have been working as an editor for the past two years. I have experience teaching students about the tricky grammar they might encounter on the test, and can help increase their confidence on this portion of the test.
