I am a Microsoft Certified Trainer - MCT and Certified Office Master 2007 and 2010.

I have been employed as a professional MS Office instructor since 2004 and have conducted classes in all levels of MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint.

I am equally comfortable working in a small-class setting as well as one-on-one, public or corporate. I have trained over a thousand students with an average student evaluation of 4.7 out of 5, which reflects my passion for software and love my love for teaching it!

My background in doing administrative work for the past 30 years makes me particularly good at teaching these skills, since I have practical experience using these programs real office environments.

My goal is to equip students with the tools to increase confidence and productivity while decreasing frustration. I instruct students in a way that will enable them to troubleshoot software challenges without my help. In other words, I aspire to create independent MS Office users that are able to find their own solutions.

Microsoft Access

I am a Microsoft Certified Application Specialist in Access 2007 & 2010 and have instruction experience in Access Levels 1, 2 and.

Database development is a complicated process that needs to be addressed in theory and design in addition to learning to navigate the software. I have experience training students in both theory & design and use of the software.

I find students who enjoy logic (puzzles, lists, organization) usually enjoy learning Access.

Instruction Level 1 covers basic theory & table design Level 2 delves more into database design theory and skills necessary to refine and further develop your database. Level 3 addresses advanced queries, macros, importing & exporting.

Each level consists of 6 hours of training.

Troubleshooting an existing database can be done; time will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Microsoft Excel

I am MS Office Certified Expert in Excel 2007 and 2010. I have extensive experience teaching Levels 1, 2, and 3, each consisting of hours of instruction.

Excel is probably the most widely used MS Office program, along with MS Word. Students are encouraged to start at the beginning, as even advanced users find new features in the Level 1 class. More advanced features and functions are found in Level 2 (including Pivot tables); Level 3 focuses on advanced functions and logic (including V-lookup).

Microsoft Outlook

I am MOS Certified in Outlook 2007 & 2010.

Instruction covers all aspects of Outlook including Incoming Mail Processing, Outgoing Mail formatting, rules, categories, Tasks, Appointments, Contacts, etc.

A student should allow 6 hours of instruction to get a good handle on using the features.

Microsoft PowerPoint

I am MS Office Certified Specialist in PowerPoint 2003, 2007 and 2010. I have extensive experience teaching Levels 1, & 2; each consisting of six hours of instruction.

Students new to Microsoft Office should complete both levels for a full understanding of the program's features. Students who have strong skills in Word and Excel can complete a composite version of the course in just six hours.

Microsoft Word

I am MS Office Certified Expert in Word 2000, 2003, 2007 and 2010. I have extensive experience teaching Levels 1, 2, and 3, each consisting of six hours of instruction.

Word is probably the most widely misunderstood MS Office program. If you're using Word like a typewriter, stop now and get instruction!

Poorly formatted documents cause unparalleled frustration. Understanding how Word thinks is key to allowing a user to control Word (as opposed to Word controlling the user).

Students are recommended to complete Levels 1 and 2 for a solid understanding of Word most-used features. Level 3 consists of features used in larger documents (i.e. footnotes, references, etc.)
