My son took an Excel spreadsheet class from a local community college. He did not have much experience with spreadsheets, so I researched tutors for this subject. He had 8 sessions with Sandra throughout the semster. Without her expertise and patience he would not have passed this class. But with her help, he got a B!!! I would highly recommned her. Update 9/15. This was my second session with Sandy. From our first session, Sandy suggested and made recommendations for study guides that further increased my knowledge and skill set. This helped me tremendously as Sandy and I covered more intermediate skills such as pivot charts, Vlookup, and advanced charting. Our session was outstanding as we focused on how to use our created data in executive briefings. I highly recommend Sandy as she is patient, yet challenging in our sessions. I have become very proficient with Excel and credit Sandy for her tutoring and recommendations to continue my learning.
My tutoring session with Sandy was excellent. At a Director level, I was very interested in getting a refresher on 2010 excel along with learning new features. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Database development is a complicated process that needs to be addressed in theory and design in addition to learning to navigate the software. I have experience training students in both theory & design and use of the software.
I find students who enjoy logic (puzzles, lists, organization) usually enjoy learning Access.
Instruction Level 1 covers basic theory & table design Level 2 delves more into database design theory and skills necessary to refine and further develop your database. Level 3 addresses advanced queries, macros, importing & exporting.
Each level consists of 6 hours of training.
Troubleshooting an existing database can be done; time will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Excel is probably the most widely used MS Office program, along with MS Word. Students are encouraged to start at the beginning, as even advanced users find new features in the Level 1 class. More advanced features and functions are found in Level 2 (including Pivot tables); Level 3 focuses on advanced functions and logic (including V-lookup).

Word is probably the most widely misunderstood MS Office program. If you're using Word like a typewriter, stop now and get instruction!
Poorly formatted documents cause unparalleled frustration. Understanding how Word thinks is key to allowing a user to control Word (as opposed to Word controlling the user).
Students are recommended to complete Levels 1 and 2 for a solid understanding of Word most-used features. Level 3 consists of features used in larger documents (i.e. footnotes, references, etc.)
