I have found the field of education to be a positive and enlightening working environment which has proven to be beneficial both personally and professionally. I am enthusiastic about providing positive support and guidance to students on their path to educational success and the continuing journey to becoming life-long learners.
I have been employed as a teacher for the Waukegan Public School District 60 for 1 year, during which time I have had the opportunity to gain further experience working with special education students. I worked with related service personnel to create IEP goals for annual meetings that were most appropriate for the students. I was also able to observe students working towards meeting and exceeding their IEP goals. My ability to speak Spanish proved to be beneficial when working with bilingual students. I also have experience working with deaf students and have knowledge of basic sign language communication. At present, I hold a Master of Science in Education from Quincy University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Law Enforcement & Justice Administration from Western Illinois University. I hold my Illinois Type-10 teacher certification in Special Education, which is registered with the Lake County Regional Board of Education.
I believe that I have the core qualities to make myself an excellent tutor. My patience has allowed me to provide a nurturing and productive educational environment for my students.
