My nonsectarian philosophy of personal creation and world citizenship values each person's life as a priceless work of art, and thus seeks primarily to help each student locate within themselves their deepest, most central talents and interests, and then encourages them to move toward their fulfillment.

I can work with any basic subject, but I specialize in English, literature, history, and religion for students and adults who want to learn more skills of a productive, creative life. I also specialize in teaching English as a first or second language, reading, writing, and vocabulary at high-school or college levels, surveys and detailed studies of great literature, including translations of the non-English classics.

Research proves the size of a person's vocabulary directly correlates to opportunity and income over a lifetime.

I studied at Baylor (B.A., M.A. in history), and did graduate work at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Univ. of Southern California, Harvard University, and Univ. of Illinois at Chicago.

I worked for General Electric in Louisville, Univac (NY and Milwaukee), CBS-TV (Hollywood), Harvard Univ., the United Nations, Columbia College (Chicago), etc. In 1975 I founded Overnight Typing Service in Harvard Square, and in 1999 New World Community Enterprises, Inc., mostly editing scholarly books and teaching small classes through the Max Havlick School (1985 to present).

My religious specialty is the Gospel of Matthew (Greek and English) which my wife and I teach in a weekly class at an American Baptist Church and to anyone willing to listen to serious scholarly studies of the most influential book in the history of Western civilization.
