I've taught at 3 colleges and over 20 companies and enjoy teaching. It is my calling. I've taught folks of all ages—from 6 to 76.Over the years I have developed my own teaching method for people who want to learn about computer applications and I call it the "C H I P" method:

There are five different ways to learn so I teach using the method that works best. Some students must read, some can only learn when they see, then do, and some learn in other ways. When I see "that look" and I KNOW that look, I will try another teaching method until my student "gets it."

I don't think any questions are dumb. It's okay for a student to occasionally have to run outside and do the "primal scream" because learning new concepts can sometimes be frighting or frustrating, but as a teacher, I believe that is unforgivable so I promise I will not lose my patience.

I am a proficient tutor using Illustrator, to Photoshop and Flash, to InDesign or DreamWeaver and other Adobe software—never fear Cher is here. Remember I am what I do teaCHER.

Adobe Illustrator

I've been teaching Adobe Illustrator for almost 20 years and am considered an expert user. This application is a very powerful vector application, but can also be used to design illustrations for web pages and for Flash animations. It is a must to learn Illustrator in today's digital communication arena.

Web Design

From laying out a navigable site to actually creating it in Dreamweaver, I can help you. If you want to learn how to create a site for yourself or somebody else or if you want to design a custom Facebook or Twitter page so you really get noticed, just let me know.

Adobe Photoshop

I've taught PhotoShop all around the country; from small ma-and-pa print shops to companies as large as Motorola and R.R. Donnelley and Sons. I taught Photoshop for print, the web, special effects and in conjunction with digital photography at 3 universities. I can teach you just about anything you need to know in this digital arena!

Adobe InDesign

Expert user in Adobe InDesign. Have taught since version 2. Whether you want to learn basic skills or advanced web or animation features I am happy to oblige. Long documents such as books or e-books are also in my repertoire.

Desktop Publishing

If you want to learn basic desktop publishing such as adding text or images into a file. Or, if you want to learn advanced Graphic Design concepts like grid management or book, magazine or catalog design I can teach you to do that. I take the fear out of the digital arena. I teach Dreamweaver, HTML and CSS. If you need to learn Dreamweaver or you just WANT to learn so you can create your own website or on-line portfolio, just let me know. It's not as difficult as it looks.

Macintosh

I've been teaching folks on the Mac OS since version 6, way back when the earth was cooling. The Mac has changed a lot since then and I've kept using it and teaching others how to navigate around in this wonderful operating system. If you want to learn how to use just the basic features or if you need to know all the whistles and bells, I can help you.

Needlework

I teach knit, crochet, hairpin lace, broomstick lace, and basic tatting.

How do I receive a discount?

Save between 5 and 15% on tutoring by purchasing credit with one of our prepaid discount packages. You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
