I would like to take this time to express my excitement about working with your child. Whether you are looking for additional support or enrichment opportunities for your child, I will do my best to meet the unique needs of each child. My goal is to make tutoring a positive and joyful experience for your child.
I am a recent graduate of Northern Illinois University's Elementary Education program and am highly qualified in literacy, math, social studies, and science. I have completed extensive methods courses in each of these subjects and well as taught them in both my clinical and student teaching experiences. I had the opportunity to partake in a professional development year long program with a first grade class.
Outside of the academic setting I have had ample opportunities to work with many different children including those with special needs. Children truly do bring joy to my life and I love being a part of their academic journey.
If you have any questions for me regarding future tutoring for your child, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you soon and beginning a new learning experience with your child.
I have had the opportunity to work very closely with many students who receive services under the ADD/ADHD category. I have taken two methods courses about working with students who have disabilities as well participated in an online seminar geared specifically toward students with ADD/ADHD.
I have had the opportunity to work very closely with many students who receives services under the Autism category. Knowing that each student with Autism is different, I will remain in close contact with you as a parent, and any professions which you feel are necessary to talk with. I have taken two methods courses which focus on students with disabilities as well as attended several seminars specifically geared toward Autism.
Having taken many methods courses throughout my program at Northern Illinois that teach independent study skills, I am qualified to teach in this designated area. I have also had experience with previous tutoring students that requested help with preparing for the MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) test. Study skills are individualized based on the needs of the students. Within the classroom I have had the opportunity to analyze individual students and create unique study booklets for test prep.
