Currently, I am working at an alternative school for District 211. I have been in the education field for four years as a teacher assistant for students with behavioral and emotional disabilities. Also, I have taught reading strategies to freshman and sophomores for over three years and have tutored an elementary student who was diagnosed with ADHD for two years. He improved by twenty points in his reading scores. Last year, I became a night school teacher for Creative Composition and Advanced Reading.
Considering the student demographic I work with, I have learned to become flexible and tailor my instruction based on students' needs and what has proven effective in the past. I am very approachable and have built good rapport with current students attending the alternative school.
