I have served as a teacher for 17 years. I have an undergraduate degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology, and a graduate degree in Education.

I have a current Type 03 Teaching Certificate (IL), Language Arts endorsed with an LBSI and approval in MR. I have been trained to be a mentor teacher for the newly hired, Reading Recovery trained, have worked in various collaborative teaching situations i.e. Inclusive classrooms and active participant in curriculum restructuring and the School Improvement Committee. I have extensive testing experience with varied populations (0-Adult) and have taught Remedial Reading at Prairie State College in an adjunct position and have Wilson Reading System training. In the past I have served as a homebound/assessment instructor for the Birth-3 population, and participated in the Science on the Go Program at Academy of Sciences for Primary Grades and Chemistry Camp at Chicago State University for Intermediate Upper Grades. I was also involved with the Environmental Summit held at the Field Museum. I believe in concrete structuring to enhance the curriculum coupled with enrichment activities to extend the goal being addressed. I feel that my work experience and training will satisfy your child's needs.

Sincerely,
Ms. Wood
