Are you a student in school (1st - 8th grade) needing a little help in your current class? Are you getting a satisfactory grade, but would like to see an A on your report card? Would you like to place out of a course you are taking now, and need help preparing for a placement exam? You are in good hands. I have had plenty of experience in helping students succeed in all of the above goals. I am familiar with the general course structure of all math and English classes, and would be able to quickly supply you with the relevant practice problems as well as step-by-step methods of solution and explanations. I would also give you encouragement and motivation, and will strive to enable you to see math from a different, positive perspective.
I customize your tutoring experience to meet your academic needs and to build confidence about your academic skills. I believe that open communication and collaboration are keys to success. With those keys in mind, I work with you and your parents to identify improvement areas, set goals and achieve results. Beyond textbooks and prep guides, I introduce different ways to learn English and math.
Also, I tutor elementary math up to and including Algebra. I focus building math skills and building confidence. Math can be frustrating, but with some guidance and some effort, it can be fun. During the past school year, I taught an after-school math tutoring program for 4th and 5th graders at my school.
I have my degree in Math and Stats from University of Illinois.
