I am an experienced special education teacher and tutor. Being a special education teacher means that I know how to pinpoint exactly how each student learns best and I have the patience and ability to guide students, no matter if they are in special education, gifted education or somewhere in between. I am the mom of a teenager, and I know how to blend caring and consistency with the firmness needed to get the job done.
I have a broad base of knowledge and feel comfortable with any subject up through eighth grade and writing, English, history and some high school-level math and science. I work in a high school reading room working with struggling readers.
I am available throughout the summer and after school all year long to help with your student's needs.

Knows her stuff — Susan really "gets" teenagers, which has been helpful since my child is not enthusiastic about having a tutor. She is teaching my kid the study skills that she did not learn in grade and middle school, since she was so smart she did not have to study. She knows lots of different methods and tailors her approach to the individual needs of the student. She is reliable and a pleasure to work with. ...
