Highly Qualified Italian, English and ESL Teacher

I lived in Italy for over twenty years and am completely fluent in Italian. I have taught Italian language and culture in public elementary school districts and privately. I have also taught English to English Language Learners of all ages and from all over the world.

I am a certified teacher in the state of Illinois. I also have a Master of Arts in Teaching. In addition to teaching Italian, I tutor middle school, high school and college students needing help with their writing skills (including composition, grammar, syntax, vocabulary enrichment, spelling, and writing essays, reports, short stories and poems.)

I love foreign languages, reading and writing, and am an avid Scrabble player. My goal is to help all of my students reach their maximum potential.

Writing

It gives me great pleasure to transmit a love of writing to my students. I enjoy crafting short stories, essays, memoirs and poems. Once my students have learned the basics of proper grammar, syntax, spelling and composition, they realize what a wonderful creative outlet writing can be, in addition to being an absolute necessity for school and in the current highly-competitive job market. I teach students at all levels (elementary, middle, high school and college.)

Italian

I have taught Italian for 14 years, to students from ages 3 to 86. I teach grammar, conversation, writing, culture and Italian for travel. I tailor my lessons to each student, according to his or her specific needs.

Having lived in Italy for more than twenty years, and having taught the Italian language in two public school districts for eight years and on a private basis as well, I feel that I have a great deal to offer students of all ages and at all ability levels.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have Illinois type 03 teacher certification, which means that I am certified to teach grades kindergarten through eighth. I have a Master of Arts in Teaching from National-Louis University.
