I have taught reading and writing classes for over 30 years. In particular, I have taught English 101 and English 102 at the university and junior college levels. In addition, I teach Introduction to Literature, and I have an expertise in American Indian History and Culture. I am currently retired and have time to work with students who need help organizing an essay and a documented MLA, APA research paper. In teaching literature, I have come to the definite realization that one secret to writing well is to READ!
Another secret to writing well is WORK. I am a no-nonsense teacher and expect students to do the work assigned. If a person wants to achieve anything worthwhile, s/he must be willing to work for it. As Xu Gang so eloquently says in his poem, "Red Azalea on the Cliff": "If someone actually reached that azalea, then an azalea would surely bloom in his heart."
