I enjoy working with young elementary children who need extra support learning the basic skills of reading, writing, math and science. I believe that learning should be an enjoyable experience that inspires children to become lifelong learners. To increase a child’s desire to learn, I provide fun activities that relate to the child's interest or daily life that supports academic development. All children learn differently and at different rates. To meet individual learning styles I provide assorted activities that include games, worksheets and hands-on experiences.
ESL For Young Children and Families:
My training and experiences include developmentally appropriate practices for working with children and families where English is a second language. There are many challenges that new English speakers face in their everyday lives. I provide fun and helpful lessons that will increase correct pronunciation of words, increase vocabulary, and provide helpful tips for improving everyday conversational skills.
Self esteem and emotional development are very important in a child's ability to achieve academic success. To support this, I give each child my fullest attention and provide positive feed back during each session.
I have over ten years of experience working with children in educational environments. This includes providing presentations to early childhood educators, working with CCP students and serving as a committee member of the WCC Early Childhood Professional Advisory Board.
Additional Tutoring Services:
