My name is Dominique. I graduated from Illinois State University in May 2007. I have my Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education. This is my fifth year teaching. I teach in a self-contained classroom that consists of students with autism, emotional disturbances, and cognitive delays. I have taught grades K-5 and have lots of experience with the curriculum for each. I make modifications to make the learning process as easy as possible for my students and always make sure to build on their strengths. Interactive learning is so important in my classroom and I believe that is the best way kids learn. Building a positive relationship with my students is my main priority in the beginning to ensure trust and after that the learning and teaching process becomes much easier. Seeing the progress my students make year after year is the greatest reward.
