It is my belief that all children can learn. As a teacher for over 13 years, teaching both Elementary School and Middle School, I have observed students who have a "gap" in their learning. Without individualized help, the gap grows, putting students behind. It is my job to fill that gap and allow the students to be successful in their classroom.
It is essential to begin tutoring by assessing the student and finding out their strengths and weaknesses. Then, I build an idividualized program for that student that coordinates directly with what they are currently covering in their school. Also, study skills are important. I give students these lifelong skills that they can apply to all subjects.
My credentials include both an Undergraduate and Masters Degree in Educaiton. As stated above, I taught all subjects for student from grades 1 through 5 for eight years and Middle School English for over five. I am also a mother of two boys, one of which is in elementary school and the other a Middle Schooler. During my time as a classroom teacher, I received outstanding evaluations. I also hold a teaching certificate for the state of Illinois as well as the state of Maryland.
