Hello! I earned my bachelor's degree from Rockford College in Elementary Education with Middle School Endorsements in Language Arts, Social Studies, and Spanish. I substitute taught for three years and continue to do so when time allows, preschool through 9th grade. Last year I was a Reading Interventionist working with small Guided Reading groups in 4th and 5th grades as well as assisting with 2nd graders in a Special Education classroom. Currently I am working for the Rockford Park District at Lockwood Park and Atwood Park. At Lockwood, where I have worked seasonally for 12 years, I teach horseback riding lessons, supervise the summer camp program, plan special events, and co-teach agriculture education classes. At Atwood Park I teach outdoor education classes to school groups who attend the overnight field trips. These include a classroom portion as well as field study through hiking, games, and river exploration. I also teach adult couples Country and West Coast Swing Dancing on the side. I look forward to using my wide array of experiences in and out of the classroom to assist students in their endeavors!
