I have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, with a concentration in Statistics, and finished a Masters degree in Applied Statistics in December of 2013. My strengths are in teaching lower level math and statistics to students who don't "get" math. I have an easy-going, patient personality, and I believe there is no such thing as a bad question. I am good at breaking math down to it's most basic level, and going through every step to ensure that you don't get lost. If a particular concept isn't making sense to you, I will try to find another (and another, and another...) way to explain it until it does make sense.
I'm also a classically trained violist with 20+ years of experience, and have given lessons on both the viola and violin. I also enjoy cooking immensely, and would be happy to share some tips and knowledge with beginning cooks just starting out, so you don't have to learn the hard way by setting off fire alarms! Lastly, I have strong spelling and grammatical skills, so I do a lot of proofreading for family and friends (a couple of which are budding authors). I have reference information from previous students who can attest to my teaching methods, if you so desire.
Lastly, I have access to classroom space through my job, thus I can provide a safe and quiet place for us to work, if needed - but I'm more than happy to meet wherever it's most convenient for you. I really love teaching! It's what I want to do for the rest of my life, so please, if you're struggling with anything I might be able to help you with, drop me a line!
