The services I provide are primarily focused on college prep and career development. I have taught business and sociology courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level of college. I also have experience teaching at the high school level. Currently, I am employed as a financial analyst and have been in this position for over 7 years. My undergraduate college work was in the field of sports medicine, and as such I retain a strong interest in strength and conditioning training.
My approach to education is first to remove the fear of failure from the student. I have found that students respond well when I get them to view education as a continual flow of development as opposed to series of tests to beat. Let's be honest, no one will excel at something they don't enjoy. Correspondingly, it is vital to get the student to become engaged and enjoy learning.
I teach because it is satisfying to see a student have the "a ha" moment. That moment when you can see that a student has broken through a hurdle and fully understands some given educational concept.
In this day and age I can appreciate any parents concerns over safety. For that reason, I am always open to meeting with the parents of any student that I tutor. I will always follow up with the parents to provide progress reports for their child.
