I recently earned a Bachelor's degree in science with a major in mathematics and a minor in physics from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I graduated with highest distinction in mathematics, Magna Cum Laude and College Honors. After that I took an Engineering course at Harper College, and now I am enrolled in the Mathematical Physics Master program at the University of Edinburgh to start this coming Fall.I have been tutoring for the past three years at different institutions. One of them is the Mathematical Sciences Learning Center at UIC and the tutoring center located in Elgin Community College.
I have experience tutoring most mathematics and physics subjects as well as basic chemistry. Pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, college algebra, linear algebra, abstract algebra, calculus, multivariable calculus, differential equations, electricity and magnetism, statics, trigonometry, business calculus, among others.
I work about 35 hours a week on average, and I also have experience doing private tutoring at ECC. I encourage my students to attempt the problems where they are having trouble more than once before thinking that they are not able to solve them, and I also recommend reading a section multiple times if the student is doubting about his/her knowledge of the section. Mathematics, physics and engineering are fields where many people struggle, but it takes discipline, time, and patience to understand science concepts. It is a different language that one needs to learn by practicing it.
