I hold a bachelor's degree in accounting and classics. I've worked in the corporate world for many years, and tutored Math on the side during that time. However, I've come to realize my true passion lies in teaching mathematics, and I want to do this as much us possible. When I was in sixth grade, I took the SAT, and scored high enough to be placed in high school math through a special program. Since then, I've been a little ahead of my peers. Using this gift, I wanted to help as many people as I could.

As a tutor, I've worked with students of various backgrounds and age groups. My students range from pre-high school to adults in their fifties. I've also helped students with ADD/ADHD, and war veterans succeed in learning. I am very patient, and pride myself on being attentive and caring about how my students are doing in learning their class material.

My expertise is SAT Math, ACT Math, K-7 math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. I have also worked with students taking Statistics, Probability, Chemistry, and Physics.

I am 54 years old and going back to school at the University of Phoenix. My course of study is Computer Information Technology Software Engineering. I have been doing very well in school. So, keeping up my grade point average is quite important. One of my classes as a Senior is Discrete Math. I have never heard of Discrete Math before, and I was lost. To remedy the problem, I looked for a tutor. I could not find one locally, so I tried the Internet. Where I easily found WyzAnt.

This brings us to Ayya. He has been a great help. His knowledge on the concepts fills in the blanks to the textbook and the resources at the University of Phoenix website portal. He answers the many questions I have about the material. If I asked the U of Phoenix instructor by posts on the portal, I would never get the answers back. It can take up to a day to get one question answered from your instructor.

Finally, Ayya shows me the new concepts in easy to understand terms. He relates the concept with College Algebra concepts allowing me to quickly grasp the new ideas. I am very appreciative of WyzAnt and Ayya for the help that I needed. When I needed it the most.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I scored a near perfect on the ACT Math section when I took it in high school. I love seeing students succeed, and I enjoy very much to work with them to improve upon their original score.

I am very experienced in Calculus. I took AP Calculus BC in high school, and passed the AP exam with a 5 out of 5. I have also taken Calculus III in college. Since this time, I've helped many students improve their grades in Calculus.

I've taken Discrete Mathematics in college. I enjoyed that class very much. While I was taking the class, I helped several fellow classmates understand the material. After the class was over, I have been tutoring students in Discrete Math for quite a while.

I got an A in Geometry, and I enjoy it very much. I have tutored this subject for quite a while, and many students and parents are very happy with my help.
