Being an elementary teacher for over 20 years has allowed me to teach various grade levels and gain extensive knowledge in student learning styles at different ages. Having taught Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th grades, I discovered that all students need basically the same things--motivation, and a stimulating learning experience--in order to learn. Bringing concepts to life by relating them to real experiences motivates students to want to learn more. When students see the importance of learning and how exciting it can be, they will consistently yearn for more and more information. I believe it is the job of the teacher to create these experiences for the students through whatever subject they are teaching.
