My name is Matthew. I am 28 years old, and I have lived in abroad teaching English in the North East of China for the last three and a half years. My wife and I have just returned to United States, and have decided to try to build a life for ourselves in the Chicago area.

As I said, I worked primarily in the North East, and I spend the majority of my time in Shenyang, which is a second tier city and is the capital of the Liaoning province. During that time I worked in both public schools, teaching at the primary and secondary levels, and in private tutoring centers, teaching both large classes and private lessons. As a foreign English teacher, my lessons tended to focus on speaking and listening, however I am capable of teaching reading, writing and grammar as well.

I really enjoyed teaching abroad, and I would love to find a job that would allow me to stay connected to that field, whether ESL, public school teaching, or Corporate Training. I am looking for tutoring opportunities while pursuing these other options.

Thank you for your time.
