I am a certified, experienced teacher holding two Masters degrees, one in Education and one in Psychology (with an emphasis in learning). I am available for students in need of academic support. I am a kind and patient person and really enjoy helping students reach their potential. Students who work with me can benefit in the following ways:

organizational skills
strategies in preparing for tests
writing and editing papers
research projects
reading comprehension
executive function skills
time management

I consider myself to have two areas of expertise, writing and working with students who have learning difficulties. I worked in a Special Ed classroom and encountered many types of verbal language difficulties, and I also have worked extensively with students with ADHD. I can support students in their schoolwork
and do remediation for learning difficulties.

I am also certified to teach English. In middle school, high school, college, and beyond, strong writing skills are a great advantage. In a typical classroom setting, a teacher cannot give each student the individual attention to develop their writing skills.

I can help teach a strong foundation with skills including:

express thoughts clearly
fluid and varied sentences
paragraph development
organizing an essay
punctuation and grammar
meet the requirements of each teacher

If you think I might be the right tutor for your child send me an e-mail! I offer a free initial consultation.

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have an MA in Clinical Psychology and five years' teaching experience in a cross categorical classroom.

Special Needs

I have a MA in Clinical Psychology. In that degree I took classes in learning and intelligence testing. I taught in a Special Ed classroom in both public and private schools and I have additional coursework in special education taken at various colleges while I was teaching.
