Dear Enthusiastic Hunters of Knowledge,

I won't bore you with citing all the experience I have learning alongside children. I'll just say that I have been teaching/coaching/tutoring children for over thirty years. I love it! I am currently a certified teacher in Illinois. I have a passion for learning and passing on that knowledge to the next generation and even the older generation - actually, anyone who will listen! My area of concentration is the social sciences but I have also taught math, reading, literature, language arts, music appreciation, physical education, and religion. I have also coached baseball, softball, basketball, and volleyball for girls and boys. I love making a difference in people's lives. I believe to educate anyone they must first trust you. A person must establish a relationship with those he/she wishes to influence and educate. A teacher must be a positive influence on many aspects of a child's life and educate the whole person. Anyone can guide a student through a book about a subject but it takes someone who is passionate about knowledge to truly educate. Knowledge is Power, sharing that knowledge is EMPOWERING a person to succeed! See you soon!

I have taught math, prealgebra and algebra at levels 3-10. I feel it is so important to confirm the students' complete understanding of basic math concepts in order for them to master the higher level skills. That is where we, as a team, can get your little one on track!

Reading

I have taught reading at many levels including grades 4-9 and literature at grade levels 6-10. I believe reading is the most essential academic skill an individual can possess.
