In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. Basketball

I am a high school guidance counselor and coach with more than 25 years experience coaching. I have coached basketball at the high school youth league level and am currently a basketball coach at the grammar school level and head freshmen softball coach at a High School. My coaching philosophy is based on my extensive study of John Wooden, as well as the strategic underpinnings of former college coach Cliff Ellis as well as former college and professional Coach Pete Carrill.

Career Development

I have an MA in school counseling and have worked as a high school counselor for over 10 years. My primary role was to provide career counseling and facilitate and manage our career development software program called career cruising. Further still, I have established the following career service independently where I help people: Learn how to conduct an effective career/job search and get advice that will take them from the work search, resume and interview process through their first days on the job. My career approach takes my clients through a variety of topics and sessions including: Work Search; Interview Skills; Resumes; How to Get Job Offers; Letter Writing; What to Do Once Your "On the Job."

College Counseling

I have an MA in School Counseling and a second MA in Administrative Leadership and Policy Studies, which gives me a solid background in Colene Counseling. Moreover, I have over 10 years experience as a high school counselor. As part of my duties i have worked extensively with helping students complete successful applications, college essays and have also put together several College Fairs and worked closely with College Admissions representatives.

Social Studies

I have a BA in social science education from Saint Xavier University, and two master's degrees in school counseling and educational leadership. I have a type 10 teaching certificate with a social studies endorsement. Lastly, I've got over 15 years in education as a social studies teacher, coach and school counselor.

Sociology

I have a BA in social science with a sociology emphasis. Moreover, I have a Type 10 certificate with an endorsement to teach sociology. Lastly, I have more than 6 years of sociology teaching experience at the high school level.

Softball

I am a high school guidance counselor and coach with more than 25 years experience coaching. I have coached a variety of sports, but I am currently the head freshmen softball coach at a High School. My coaching philosophy is based on my extensive study of John Wooden, as well as my extensive reading of softball legends such Sue Enquist and Mike Candrea, among others.

Furthermore, I have been a teacher and school counselor for more than 15 years. As a teacher and, more specifically, as a counselor I had the opportunity to both develop and facilitate study skills programs numerous times.
