I am a teacher with over 10 years of experience. Throughout my years, I was not only the teacher, I was the student and I learned that students have a natural curiosity of the world around them and are eager to learn about that world. This means all students, not just those that are in advanced classes, or those that are on the honor roll. Believing in that philosophy, It is important to meet each and every student/child at their individual level. For some students, a genius level of material is required to keep them interested while other students must be assisted on a regular basis to master the basic skills. Neither method is right or wrong. These are just examples of how students learn at their own pace and in their own way.

In the last month, I have written various books. Currently, I have two math books and one planner available for sale on Amazon. They are word problems and basic skill books. There are two more books in the works: build your own planner and another book of word problems. Both sets of books incorporate math and skills and how these skills are used in the real world. It is important that students learn these basic skills in a way that relates to the world in which they live.

Please feel free to view my author's page.

It will be my privilege to challenge and assist students in a wide variety of subjects as they grow through their academic career. See you all soon.

Elementary (K-6th)

I currently hold a Type 03-Elementary Teaching Certificate with Middle School Endorsements in Computers and Social Studies.

From 2001 to 2011, I served as the Computer Teacher and Technology Coordinator at Libby Elementary School in Chicago.

Elementary Math

Math can be the building block for so many other subjects, especially at the elementary level.

All students should learn the basics of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. For this reason, I have developed an application that can generate practice sheets in all subjects. Beyond that, I have also published two math books related to basic skills, one using the previously mentioned worksheets and another based on word problems.

Reality is the best way to teach math to any student, no matter whether it is a young student learning for the first time or an adult having to relearn something for whatever reason.

If it is a number, it can in some way be related to reality.

General Computer

It is almost difficult for me to write a description for this subject. For the past 25 years, I have been in one way or another using, networking, programming, building and even repairing personal computers. As an obvious disclaimer, this does not include Apple computers. They are self contained and require Apple parts and labor. Sorry. :(

On the Windows side though, that list is intact. First in college, with networking, programming, data management, hardware installation, the school of hard knocks began my computer career. Then through a few years in the private sector, database management went even further. Once my focus switched into education, the list grew to add visual aids, presentations, learning tools, surveys, and so much more.

Now, finally, as an author, computers have played a huge part in the production of my first two books related to math.

If a computer can do it, I have probably done it.

Just email and ask. If I have not done it, I will admit it and learn.

Thank you and have a great time with the computer. :)

Government & Politics

Not to scare anyone, but this subject can change just like the weather. :) There are days I wish it was like many of my other subjects such as math or grammar that are not subject to change at the drop of a hat. Unfortunately, that is the nature of the beast. For that reason, these classes require a large amount of debate, discussion and thinking on your feet.

Ask yourself, over the past election cycle, were you interested and informed, neutral or bored out of your mind? Depending on your answer to that question, a determination can be made on how much fun a person is going to have in such a politics and government class.

As a holder of political science degree, I can say that normally, I am interested and informed, but recently, I have become more of a change agent. This can be a unique advantage for many students. I can provide both sides of arguments, assist in research, develop test quizzes and pretty much whatever is needed to help a student get through a politics class.

Good luck and remember, politics is NOT just history. It is the making of history.

Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Excel is a wonderful tool that can do oh so many things. Everything from the basic budget to the most detailed statistical analysis that can be imagined. It, like so much else, is dependent on the person who is doing the programming.

Lessons here can range from basic reading and writing in spreadsheets at first to basic functions and then conditional statements and finally charts, graphs and symbols.

Excel can also serve as a reference program for mail merges and other utilities throughout the MS Office suite.

Writing

Writing can be a wide range of material from simple pamphlets to huge essays. It all depends on the audience that is being written to.

Over the years, I have written numerous essays in multiple formats. Recently, have written a few published books that are more of a practical nature. I developed lesson plans for myself and other teachers as an exploratory teacher in Chicago. I even make videos and other visual aids to help with oral presentations.

All of these can be taught through my writing spectrum.
