I have extensive business experience and two master's degrees: an MBA and an MHA. I have tutored friends, family, colleagues on a variety of topics: reading, writing, PowerPoint presentations and a variety of specific business questions. I greatly enjoy teaching and helping others and love when someone experiences that "ah-ha" moment. My business experience enables me to help my student define the appropriate standard of excellence in the business world or in a school setting.
My approach to tutoring is based on developing a thorough understanding of what the student wants and needs to accomplish. Sometimes someone just want to learn concrete information; other times, the focus might be on learning skills. Therefore, I seek to understand what is preventing the student from achieving their goals. I am a good listener and think its important to look at each tutoring engagement uniquely.
