What gives me strength as an ESL teacher is my genuine interest in international students. I look at the ESL classroom as a place where I can learn as much about the cultures of my students as they learn about the English language from me. I use that mutual learning experience to keep students engaged in a lesson even if they are having difficulties with the language. I also have a passion for the intricacies of the English language and welcome the challenge of developing ways to illustrate complicated grammar concepts to ESL learners.
I have a TOEFL Certificate from the International Training Center in the Czech Republic where I lived for nine months working as an ESL teacher. After receiving my TOEFL certificate in Prague, I was employed at a private language school where I taught students at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. I’ve taught business English to doctors and other professionals, English grammar to students in all levels of school, and conversational English to those who just wanted to improve their English skills for travel and living in the United States.
I’m very flexible with the structure of my lessons. I can follow a strict curriculum from a text book, I can design lessons from multiple resources based around specific topics in English, or I can structure lessons purely around conversation. It’s all up you and what would be the best help for your English studies.
I look forward to hearing from you!
