I am a certified Illinois Math teacher who taught Algebra, Pre-Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra II in a Chicago High School. I also taught Computer Applications and Computer Science including AP Computer Science. I left teaching to become a corporate trainer at several of Chicago’s largest law firms. My greatest strength is translating the subject matter into understandable terms. While working with attorneys, I was constantly complimented on my ability to teach without intimidation. Several of the attorneys requested that I tutor their parents in using their computers. I enjoyed working with seniors as much as I had enjoyed working with younger students.
As a tutor, I have tutored College Algebra and Trig as well as all levels of math including 7th and 8th graders through college students. I have prepared students in the math portion of the ACT test. I have worked with students who were failing math very late in the year and helped them attain a final grade of B or C.
However, my greatest thrill is seeing the change in a student’s confidence in themselves as they go from failure to success.
