I have taught history at a private high school in St. Louis since 2005, where my subjects have included U.S. history, European history, world history, and U.S. government and politics. For four years, I graded Advanced Placement U.S. History essay exams for the Educational Testing Service. I have an undergraduate degree in history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a doctorate in history from the University of Iowa, and have taught history at McKendree University and at Washington University's University College.
I have published an historical study with the University of Wisconsin Press. My method in teaching is to work to make the material interesting, in part by drawing on vivid and exciting episodes from the past.
