In Medieval and Ancient times, when there was much less knowledge in the world, there were people called polymaths who knew everything about every subject. While I am not that good, I know a lot about many different subjects and I can help you learn those many subjects.

I graduated from Goucher College Cum Laude with a BA in philosophy. My whole career so far has been in tutoring of one form or another. I have tutored inmates in prison, Israeli elementary school students, and many high school debaters. I have also been a camp counselor and designed curricula for many different camps.

I also know that I do well at tutoring because wherever I have been tutoring, whoever the students are have told me that I'm really good at helping them understand what they need to learn. I am very helpful, caring, understanding, and thoughtful.

Besides my degree in philosophy I am also an A history student and am fairly well versed in anthropology, sociology, psychology, English, writing, reading, and many other subjects. Finally, I have been a debate coach for the past 4 years and am great at creating excellent public speakers.

ACT Reading

I got a 34 on the ACT reading section both times I took the test. In addition, I was a philosophy major and the texts that were required for me to read (and understand) on a regular basis were significantly harder than anything on the ACT (or SAT).

American History

I might know more about American history than any other subject in the world. I have read books and books and have taken many classes on top of those books. On a more pragmatic level, I took two classes on the subject in college and got As in both classes while getting a 4 on the AP test in high school without taking an AP US history class before the test.

Anthropology

I have a decided interest in anthropology. I have read a lot in the subject on my own free time and can compare a lot of different civilizations and their methods without the same formal training. However, I also took two anthropology classes in college getting As in both classes. One was a intro class and the other was a class on language in anthropology.

Baseball

I played little league baseball for 9 years. When I was 18 I played in the top baseball league in Israel. While I was in Israel I also tutored 10 year old boys, who had never played baseball before, on how to play the game and they started to play by themselves without my help. Finally, since then I have continued to play, study, and watch baseball very seriously.

Hebrew

I went to Solomon Schechter Day School in Northbrook, IL for 9 years where I learned Hebrew. I then continued taking a few unstructured classes in high school and took a few in college. I have also lived in Israel for a total of 16 months in the past 3 years where I get around by speaking Hebrew.

Finally, I have tutored various people on my Israel trips on how to speak Hebrew.

Logic

I was a philosophy major at Goucher College. There is a logic requirement in the philosophy department and in taking the basic logic course I got a A-. Finally, I have been a debate coach for 4 years and debates are based around the validity, soundness, and understanding of arguments.

Philosophy

I was a philosophy major at Goucher College in Baltimore, MD where I graduated cum laude. I took many classes in the subject and had an A- average. Moreover, I was offered special opportunities by my department and traveled to multiple philosophy conferences across the country. Finally, I TA'd one class on philosophy during my senior year in political philosophy.

Currently, I am applying to graduate school in philosophy.

Public Speaking

I debated at Glenbrook North HS for 4 years achieving some success. I then coached at Loyola Blakefield HS in both debate and speech for the past 3 years. During that time I led Loyola to their most successful period in the history of their speech and debate program.

Soccer

I played soccer for three years, including on my high school team. Since formal competition ended I have continued to play in various intramural sports as well as pickup soccer on a semi-regular basis.

Social Studies

Social studies is a broad term that tends to incorporate a large amount of the social sciences plus history. Whenever I have been in a social studies class I have always been the kid that knows the most. Moreover, I have helped tutor classmates in social studies. In college I helped out some of my debaters in social studies class as well.

Sociology

Sociology and anthropology are very similar subjects. Sociology is a study of "us" and our social norms vs. anthropology study of "them and other cultures social norms. I have studied a lot of anthropology. In addition, I have taken an intro level sociology class that I enjoyed very much. I graduated from Goucher College Cum Laude with a BA in philosophy.

Speech

I debated at Glenbrook North HS for 4 years achieving some success. I then coached at Loyola Blakefield HS in both debate and speech for the past 3 years. During that time I led Loyola to their most successful period in the history of their speech and debate program.

World History

History is a subject in which I am extremely knowledgeable. I have read a lot of books and taken a bunch of classes in the subject. With World History specifically, I took two classes in college, three classes in high school, and got a 5 on the AP test.
