I am a French national who has lived over 20 years in UK (Oxford & London) before moving recently to the US (on Thanksgiving Day, November 2011).
Over a period of 8 years, I have been teaching French in UK (one-to-one) and I also gave lectures at the High Wycombe University about Aviation related topics. Indeed, I am also a bilingual (English-French) executive within the aerospace industry, as well as a pilot and an ex-Air Traffic Controller.
I have been an expatriate for over 20 years. Thus, I am very well aware of the important "cultural" differences, as well as the needs to provide each of my students with engaging and stimulating tuition classes.
However, a teacher is only as good as his/her student is willing to work hard to learn and progress ... If you are willing, then I am the right tutor.
My tutoring methods are quite simple, effective and evolve with your own linguistic capabilities and/or level. I work a lot by specific wording associations that are matching specific situations. For instance, a conversational topic related to ... The kitchen and its equipment surroundings. (The French love their food!)
Learning a language is not easy, particularly French. It takes time and dedication but the satisfaction derived from NOT being afraid to make mistakes is indeed a lasting and enjoyable pleasure ... as communications today is paramount.
I very much enjoy teaching my own language. If you think you will enjoy a dedicated and committed tutor, then please contact me!
