Teaching is an art. The experience, training and certifications of your tutor can make a real difference in the rate of progress made by the student.
I am a fluent Spanish-English bilingual speaker with State of IL. elementary and secondary teaching certificates as well as an administrative certificate. I have a master's degree in Spanish and have taught beginning, intermediate and upper levels of Spanish to over 3,000 students of all ages. I've taught ESL to students from over fifty different countries including India, China, Poland, Russia, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Mexico, the Philippines, and more. I have taught ESL in Spain, the Dominican Republic, and Colombia to executives and other adult students.
In addition to my WyzAnt students, my experience as a tutor includes having worked with students from the United States, facilitating their acquisition of Spanish language competency, as well as with many students from other nations. I have also tutored my ESL students in subject matter content areas such as history, English language grammar, vocabulary and reading comprehension.
In 2007, I received my Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) from Loyola University. From 2008 to the present, I have taught over twenty university courses to teachers and principals who were seeking their ESL/Bilingual endorsements. These courses included ESL Foundations, ESL Methods and Materials and Cross-Cultural understanding.
The Illinois State Board of Education has approved me as a Provider of Continuing Professional Education for teachers in Illinois. That means teachers will earn credits by attending my seminars.
I love to teach and would enjoy helping you reach your goals.
