Knox College (Physics)
Hi there, I am a graduate from Knox College with a major in Physics and a minor in Mathematics. I hope that I can be of service to anyone who requires aid with these disciplines. They offer life-long skills by offering problem-solving techniques and numerical tools. I have background in peer-tutoring when I was in school, helping in both Physics and Math. I also work at Mathnasium and as a math aide, with plenty of classroom experience under my belt. Hi there, I am a graduate from Knox College with a major in Physics and a minor in Mathematics. I am very happy with my decision to hire Brett S. to help me study for my Intro Physics I final exam. Brett arrived on-time with textbook & scratch paper in-hand and a smile on his face. Despite sitting & working for a long time (6 hours!), Brett showed no sign of tiring or losing patience with my numerous questions. He displayed a high level of subject aptitude & knowledge, teaching ability, and professionalism. I will be calling Brett next semester to tutor me in Intro Physics II, and I highly recommend that you hire him for your physics & math tutoring needs.
Through the words of my 13 year old son: "He was great. The 90 minutes went by so quickly. He was fun and I enjoyed my lesson. It really helped and I'm excited for the next time that he comes."
My thoughts: "What?! You enjoyed math and it was fun?" THANK YOU BRETT!!
I really enjoy working with Brett. He is easy to talk to and understand. He helps me focus on the right things for test taking.
Brett has been a great help for my kid. He was able to break the concepts down and explain it with ease. I would highly recommend Brett.
My son really enjoyed his first session with Brett. He was very knowledgeable and gave me great feedback on my son's ability, strengths and weaknesses. He will definitely be a great asset to my son this year. We have continued to seek Brett for my son's tutoring needs for honors geometry and his grade reflects what a great asset Brett is.
Brett just started tutoring my son and appeared to have established a good rapport with him as he welcomed questions, and made sure he understood the topic at hand.
For about the last month we have been seeing Brett for math help and things are going great! Brett has the patience of a saint and was willing to work with us on location as well! Brett has done a fabulous job helping to both teach my son and build his confidence in this subject, from the ground up. Our family is so happy to have found Brett and will continue to work with him throughout the year and maybe more to come. In our family we have found that math is not like it was when we as parents were young, and so sometimes we struggle to help, but Brett gets it and has such a passion for teaching and empowering students to WANT to learn. My son comes home excited after his sessions with Brett and even more proud when he can show off a good grade on a paper. Homework is no longer a struggle, but instead my son see's it as an exciting challenge! As a mom I am no longer dreading homework time and you have no idea what that means to me! Thanks again Brett.
Brett was a wonderful tutor for my daughter. He was on time, prepared for the lessons, and easy to reach. He was also very flexible with his schedule. in addition, he was a good listener and put the needs of the student first. I was very happy with him.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I received a 26 on this section when I took the exam.
This is a field I am passionate in and have much background in on a personal, out-of-classroom basis.
I have taken Symbolic Logic in college and received an A in the course.
This was my major in college.
