I'm currently attending graduate school at Teachers College, Columbia University to get my degree in Counseling Psychology. I have a lot of experience tutoring K-12 students and adult immigrants who want to improve their English skills.
Most of my experience is in education and working with kids. I was recently a volunteer leader at an art program in the Chicago Public School system. I taught and facilitated art activities for elementary students. I have also taught English as a foreign language to elementary students in South Korea for 2 years.
I have tutored for over 6 years and most of the students I tutor want to improve their skills in math, English (reading and writing), or ACT. The methods I use adapt according to each student's needs, but generally we use workbooks as the main source of learning, which are supplemented with worksheets and materials that I provide according to the lesson. I prefer to discuss the student's goals during the first session and then prepare the materials necessary for the following session. However, I understand that some students already have the materials they would like to use and need further assistance with their current endeavors.
If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me. Thank you.
