I am experienced in science and math, and have experience teaching at college and graduate level.
I have also tutored many younger students and have always enjoyed the experience. I have been trained in physics with an undeclared major in math at the college and graduate level. I have respectively attained a BA and PhD in Physics from Queens College in NYC and Iowa State University in Ames. I have recently retired but would be delighted to help students at all levels.
I have extensive familiarity with the R&D process which will assist me in helping the student in using their newly acquired knowledge. The student will receive capable of explanations of difficult concepts in a succinct and transparent manner. Science concepts will be explained rather than using teaching jargon. My experience includes teaching at Northwestern University and The Faculty of Science in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. I have spent the last 25 years at Argonne National Laboratory. I will strive to teach what the student doesn't know rather than reiterating previously acquired knowledge. Concepts will be distilled during sessions. I am a good teacher and a subject matter expert for me the concept of Algebra - through differential equations is a continuum. I taught my oldest daughter concepts in integral calculus when she was in the 4th grade in Naperville. She is now a portfolio manager in Amsterdam, who would have thunk that my teaching her math and science would make the difference.
