I graduated with high honors and received a Bachelors in English in 2009. I have studied American, British, and environmental literature and have conducted research and written subsequent papers on each subject. Due to the large amounts of writing I have done, I am knowledgeable in the rules of grammar and the MLA style of citation. I have tutored such subjects as ESL, study skills, grammar, writing, and literature. Currently, I am taking a summer course to transfer into a biochemistry program in the Fall of 2013 in preparation for medical school. I also have ten years of childcare experience with children between the ages of infant and fourteen.

Writing

I have experience in different styles of writing including persuasive, research, and creative writing, due to my undergraduate degree in English. I also know the mechanics of grammar and the techniques of proper citation.

Study Skills

When I tutor a student in understanding proper study skills I utilize an array of different methods. I incorporate the SQ3R technique, which has the student survey, question, read, recite, and review the material, such as a chapter in a Biology book.
