I have been teaching college English and writing for over 7 years. I love what I do because the students make it both fun and challenging for me everyday I walk into that classroom. Although I have been teaching at the college level for the past 7 years, I also have recent experience tutoring elementary and middle school aged students in both reading and writing skills. Additionally, I have several years of substitute teaching experience at the K-12 levels and worked with Disability Support Services as a graduate assistant while attending Graduate School to attain my Master's Degree in English. As described by some of my experience, I love the learning process and always look forward to guiding and/or tutoring new students in order to enhance both their skill level and confidence level as well. Looking forward to being challenged as an educator is something that has always inspired me to learn more about my students and the skills that I am facilitating. At times, my students guide me more than I guide them because part of my job is to listen to what's not being said so I can better do my job in instructing the student on what comes next and/or what the student may need more focusing on.
I can say this with honesty: I have a passion for what I do and enjoy using this asset to enrich the lives of my students depending on what his/her goals may be. Depending on the skill and age level, of course, I aim to make my students more aware of what they need to work on so they may use the skills they have learned confidently outside of tutoring and apply them to the classroom.
