Hajimemashite! (Nice to meet you!) My name is Mitsuru. People call me Mick so I am Mickey the Japanese Mouse. I am a Japanese native. I grew up in Osaka, Japan, so I speak Japanese fluently (Nihongo perapera).
I would love to help you to learn USEFUL Japanese (Speaking, listening, writing and reading) so you can connect with Japanese people and the culture. I understand how hard it is to learn a foreign language because I have experienced this too (I am still a learner of English). Therefore, I want you to enjoy learning. I know how to do it. I started learning English in formal education settings, but also by interacting with American culture and native English speakers. I found that my personal interactions with people and culture were much more beneficial than the formal education.
I graduated from Tokyo Christian University in Chiba, Japan with a B.A. degree. For the past ten years, I have taught Japanese to several Americans, children and adults, who were traveling to Japan. I also taught Japanese grammar, reading, writing, and Kanji at the Chicago Futabakai Japanese School, a Japanese Saturday School in Arlington Heights, IL, to Japanese children.
If you are interested in learning Japanese, I can help you learn Japanese in a conversational manner, which will help you grasp this contextual language. We will also have fun learning by using Japanese media such as television, manga and newspapers.
Let's start your new journey!!! Hajimemashite! (Nice to meet you!) My name is Mitsuru. People call me Mick so I am Mickey the Japanese Mouse. I am a Japanese native. I grew up in Osaka, Japan, so I speak Japanese fluently (Nihongo perapera).

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
