I am a creative teacher who uses a variety of activities to help students understand concepts. In general I task-analyze to see where the student might be struggling. I use graphic organizers for writing as well as teaching students tools to help them write cohesive paragraphs. With math, I use visuals to help students grasp concepts as well as other hints depending on the concept they are having trouble with. With reading, I look for where the student might be struggling and come up with ways to strengthen their skills. I have been teaching for 10 years with a variety of ages. I am also special ed certified, allowing me to understand specific learning issues and help students come up with ways to overcome them. I know how to read and implement IEP's and can use the given information to help students.
I have taught all ages, preschool through third grade. I have been in alternative high school education the past few years. I currently am a director of an alternative therapeutic school. I also have experience with autism using various techniques such as play-based learning and ABA.
