Anne’s qualifications in specific subjects below.
Actuarial Science
I have completed Course P and VEEs Corporate Finance and Regression Analysis of the Society of Actuaries. I have taught at the college level calculus sequence, linear algebra, statistics, mathematical modeling, differential equations, and engineering mathematics.
I have the class notes and homework assignments for the passed courses and VEE modules. I am very familiar with theory of interest. I can go over the exams posted on the Society of Actuaries web site.
Algebra 1
I assist both middle school students in a fast track program and mainstream students.
Algebra 2
I assist students taking class in high school or college. I teach the subject at local community colleges.
C
I have worked as a software developer and have worked on large scale projects involving programming in C and other languages. I have also worked with algorithm development, in particular efficiency and number of operations to complete a certain task.
Calculus
I tutor AP Calculus students and college students taking the Calculus sequence. I teach calculus at local community colleges.
Differential Equations
My expertise in the subject of differential equations was gained while teaching undergraduate differential equations at Ohio State University and Cleveland State University and working on independent projects that required analyzing and solving differential equations. I also taught Engineering Mathematics that had differential equations as a prerequisite. While teaching the class, I presented the material, held office hours (if only one or two came at the same time, students got close to an individualized tutoring session), wrote quizzes and tests as well as the detailed answer keys, and then graded the quizzes and tests.
I have 7 years experience in teaching undergraduate credit courses at the college level and 10+ years of tutoring at various grade levels. Parents of tutored students have provided statements of my tutoring effectiveness and when applicable inquired about my availability for the following school year.
Geometry
I assist students with geometry either in the fast track or normal track.
Linear Algebra
I have a Ph.D. in applied mathematics and I have taught undergraduate linear algebra. That includes matrices, linear systems, rank of matrix, properties of symmetric matrices, eigenvalues and eigenvectors. I have used linear algebra as a tool to solve real-world problems as well as MATLAB when its need arises.
MATLAB
I have worked with a student taking college classes, data analysis, stochastic calculus, and regression analysis with all the simulations conducted in MATLAB. I have taught numerical analysis and exercises like root finding, numerical solutions of ODEs, errors were done with MATLAB. I also worked on an image processing projects and code was developed with MATLAB.
Microsoft Excel
If you need to see what I can do with Excel, email me and I can send you a sample of the work I can do.
Prealgebra
I have been tutoring 7th grade math.
Precalculus
I provide assistance with Honors Precalculus and college level. I teach precalculus at local community colleges.
Probability
I have completed Course P of the society actuaries. The letter P stands for Probability and Statistics. Material covered includes basic probability, conditional probability, expectation, normal random variables, and markov chains.
Statistics
I assist students taking AP Statistics and undergraduate and graduate students taking various levels of statistics classes. I teach Statistics at local community college. I'm an expert with Excel Statistics toolpak and MATLAB.
Trigonometry
I'm an assistant with Honors trigonometry. I teach at local community colleges.
