I am currently a mental health professional, servicing children and adults in this arena is expertise. In addition, I completed 16 weeks of studying and implementing various techniques for teaching students with disabilities and mental & behavioral health obstacles. I understand the special needs of the student i.e lack of attention/focus, organization, and hypersensitivity. I provide students with necessary skills and offer suggestions to overcome their specific barriers to meet their educational goal(s).
I am currently a case worker and provide case management services within Lake County. I provide life skills coaching, time & organizational management, as well as coaching/training. Furthermore, I teach & tutor various subjects within English including ESL at various language institutions throughout Lake & Cook County.
A few years ago, I worked in the Continuing Education department at a community college as a college administrator. This area of concentration has taught me to help others' effectively: organize, focus, meet deadlines, and improve memory by setting up a system tailored to the student(s) specific needs. In addition, I will work on motivational builders, and memorization techniques in order for one to reach their desired goals.
Over the course of 6 years in tutoring English as a Second Language, I have had the privilege of assisting 8+ students in passing the TOEFL exam. Not only do I provide students with the skills for test & note taking, but I also assist in time management and the following areas, such as: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
