Mathematics, Science, and General Studies Tutor

My goal as a tutor is for the student to reach their full potential and succeed. I often customize lesson plans to create a unique, individualized experience that will be most beneficial to every student I work with. I make a point of always having an open line of communication between myself and my students as well as their parents. I am always 100% invested in the success of each student I work with and make sure that students (and their parents) are always satisfied with their progress, every step of the way.

I am a graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, with a Bachelor's in Integrative Biology. I am also currently working on a Master of Science in Education in Learning Design and Technology through the University of Purdue.

I have previous experience tutoring various math subjects all the way up to college level calculus courses. I also have experience tutoring the sciences (biology, physics, chemistry, etc.) up to and including college level classes. I have also worked with students in general studies and in improving organizational and study skills.

I currently work a part-time job for High Touch High Tech where I perform interactive, hands-on science experiments at schools. I volunteer at Loyola Medical Center of Pediatrics where, among other duties, I have tutored children with prolonged stays (ranging from pre-K through high school) in a wide array of subjects.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have experience working with children from K-6th running after-school and in-school hands-on science experiments multiple times per week. I also have worked with incoming 3rd/4th grade students in a simulated classroom setting.

Study Skills

At the hospital I volunteer at, I often will be working with some patients (on Pediatrics) that have prolonged stays due to injury or illness. Often times, they need not only tutoring help, but organizational and study skills help to either get back into the flow of school work when they are close to discharge, or to learn proper study/work skills that may be needed to compensate for effects of medications they are currently on.

Zoology

I was a biology major with an emphasis in animal biology (zoology).
I also have 9 years experience working in zoos (Brookfield Zoo and Lincoln Park Zoo).
