I have been a teacher for 18 years. I have two masters degrees, and I am a National Board Certified Teacher. I also have an administrative degree. I have done quite a bit of tutoring over the years, and have gone to the homes of students who were home bound that could not come to school. I would work with the home bound students everyday after school for an hour so they could receive credit for attending school. I have taught every grade, kindergarten through eighth. I have 45+ graduate hours in special education, and an additional 30+ graduate hours in math. I believe in obtaining necessary data about every student I service at the beginning, so that I can use the data to really assess where the student is working, and what the students' strengths and weaknesses are, and use their strengths to build their skills and self image. I believe that all students can achieve given the proper strategies and assistance.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have taught for eighteen years in all grades kindergarten through eighth grade. I have two masters degrees, special education, and curriculum and development. I am currently finishing a third in middle school math. I also have my administrative certification and middle school language arts endorsement. I am also National Board certified. I believe that all is possible through continued education. I further believe that all students can find educational success, some however may need more assistance than other while finding that success. My biggest goal in teaching is to make students life long learners and thinkers, and to develop a love for learning in each student I service.
