I have taught elementary school, middle school, and high school. I have certification in Special Education, Language Arts, Reading, and English as a Second Language. I have taught reading to emergent readers in kindergarten and first grade. I have taught math, reading, and writing in middle schools and Algebra in high school. I am expert in using graphic organizers and manipulatives in teaching math to help students develop conceptual understanding of difficult concepts. I am skilled in using multi-sensory techniques to teach reading and am trained in the Orton-Gillingham reading methodology. I am also skilled in helping students with reading comprehension and writing skills. As a special education teacher I enjoy helping students with organization and study skills.
