My name is Aja and I am currently an Undergradute student attending Saint Xaiver University in Chicago. I will be graduating in December 2013 with a degree in Criminal Justice. I intend on enrolling in a Paralegal program starting in January 2014 and upon completion will become a certified Paralegal. My future plans include teaching English overseas within the next 3-5 years but my main goal is to eventually find a career in the field of law.
In edition to my passion for the field of law, I also have vast knowledge in several other subjects including anthropology, religion, geography, American history and World history. I also have a knack for picking up foreign languages fairly quickly and I can read and write in Spanish and I have some experience with French, Arabic, and Japanese as well.
From January 2009 until the present I have been working as a technician in the Media Services/Production department at Saint Xavier University. Between January and May 2013 I was a volunteer tutor/mentor at the Mercy Home for Girls in Chicago. During this time I assisted young female high school students between the ages of 14-18 with school homework and projects as well as provided guidance and advice when it was asked of me. I enjoyed my time with the young ladies and they informed me that they enjoyed my company as well as how I made my teaching methods fun and engaging.
My only requirement for tutoring is that the individual I am tutoring and myself meet in a public place such as a library or a study area within a school. I would truly enjoy the opportunity to offer my skills and experience to others as I look to further my own education and career aspirations.
