I was 12 years old when I started to learn French in Izmir, a major city on the Aegean coast of Turkey. The teaching language of my middle and high schools (established and supervised by the French government) was French. Additionally, I developed a habit of reading French classics. After graduating from high school, I went to receive a B.A. in Philosophy in Istanbul. At college, I continued to take French Literature and French Translation/Interpreting classes and I earned top grades. Thanks to this intense and systematic exposure to French at an early age, I have the accent of a native French speaker. In addition to being fluent in French, I speak English and Spanish. I am a native speaker of Turkish. I am tutoring Turkish as well.
Learning new languages has enriched my emotional and intellectual world and taught me new ways of making sense of the beauties of the world. I love to tutor because I love to share my passion for languages; I love to see the joy in the eyes of my students when I can make them enjoy what I enjoy the most, to let them see what a new language can bring to their lives in many respects. I am the mother of a 4 years old boy, and a 1 year old boy. They are bilingual by birth and they are enjoying learning new words everyday. I am especially interested in working with kids of any age, due to my experience both as a child and now as a mother with bilingualism and multilingualism. I also love to have group sessions with kids, learning French with songs, games and story times. I look forward to working with you!
