Education is about gaining knowledge. One must seek education for themselves because no one can make a person learn anything against their wishes. Different people seek education for different reasons. Whatever those reasons may be, I can only help someone who wants to be helped.
My style of tutoring is student-focused, not instructor focused. I cannot force-feed knowledge to a student. I can only guide them to the right path.
Education nowadays mostly takes the form of a rote memorization of facts. If a student follows this method, he/she may very well fail at actually learning the material.
My method of teaching is to instruct a student on the principles of a subject so that they are be able to 'understand' the material as opposed to just memorizing enough to pass tests. If someone is able to actually understand the concepts, then they are guaranteed to do well on their tests and exams. All I ask is that my students come into the 'classroom' without any physical distractions to bother them while they are in an environment of learning.
Discussion and problem-solving is the way to understand material, not rote memorization. I specialize in Math for students of all ages and grades K-12. My strengths also include aiding students needing help in the Physical Sciences, especially Physics and Chemistry.
