I have an Associate of Science degree in Computer Science.
I am nearing completion of my bachelor's degree, at DeVry University, having only a few upper level computer related classes to do.
I have been a computer programmer for 30 years.
I am proficient in most common programming languages and architectures and many applications such as Microsoft Office, Quicken, TurboTax, etc.
PRELIMINARIES
Please note that Internet access is probably required as most material is available only on the Internet.
We will discuss and agree upon, the assignment.
For programming languages, we may need to select, download and install an IDE (integrated development environment) and we may need to invent a project.
We will determine that we have, or can get, all the equipment and information required.
We will verify that all hardware and software is installed and working.
TEACHING METHODOLOGY
I rely heavily on the Internet and any relevant help files as a supplement to any supplied material. The student will learn to find, use and reconcile multiple sources and to draw conclusions. Then the goal is to do without the sources.
COMPUTER PROGRAMMING SUBJECTS
The student will know, or will learn, start his contacts and terminology.
Together we can examine what technologies have been hot and explore technologies becoming hot today.
I'll show you how to learn any computer language.
You will learn how a computer thinks, how to instruct a computer to think by writing a program, what the program should tell the computer to do.
Ultimately, you will learn about thinking and about talking about thinking.
