Even though I am certified math teacher (5-12), I enjoy different subjects and students of any age. Prior my B.A. in Math, I spent about 5 years privately tutoring students from k-12. I have experience teaching them math, English (especially ESL - I myself was an ESL student), U.S. History, Language Arts, science, Spanish (especially grades k-5), music, P.E. and art. I am really gifted in many subjects, but since I had to decide about my major, I chose to obtain a B.A. in math. Besides teaching in high school, I continue working with some of the students from elementary. I enjoy working with them - they help me to grow as a true educator. I like to teach my "little ones"!!!
I am certified to proctor ACCESS testing for ESL students and have done so for the last two year. I have experience working with ESL students who are in my math classes. I teach in Spanish community.
Moreover, I am bilingual Polish-English with the knowledge of beginner's Spanish. I personally experience being ESL for many years. I was really struggling with not so much learning new language but more so not being afraid to use it. I remember times when I though people will laugh at me because of my accent and pronunciation of English words. I preferred not to speak English as much as possible, and now I regret it. Faster I would decide to speak English, I could be fluent in it much sooner. I took a few ESL English and Reading classes and the most important I started using the language on the daily basis. I graduated from one of the university in United States - yes using English only.
If I could do it, you surely can too!!!
I was first introduced to Microsoft Outlook about 2 years ago. I really enjoy it. It made my life much simpler. Now, I use Microsoft Outlook every day to send and receive e-mails, plan different events, organize my weekly schedule, etc. One of the best features for me is the ability to see e-mails and calendar in the same window! I also like the e-mails with the alarm - reminders of some important meetings and appointments. The alarm is great as long as do not misuse the snooze button... :)
I think that Outlook has many wonderful features and I wish to let others know about them.
Polish is my native language... I was born in Poland and I attended elementary school and high school there. I finished my college degree in the USA. I speak, read, and write fluently in both English and Polish.
I have experience working with special education students and teachers for at least 2 years now. I teach math in inclusion classrooms. I accommodate and modify my assignments and curriculum to meet the needs of students with special needs (gifted students, students with learning disabilities, students with 504 plans, etc.). Over these two years, I had a privilege to work with students with seizure, asthma, back problems, learning disabilities, emotional problems, and gifted students. I follow their IEPs to provide the best services and teaching experience to each one of them. Personally, I really enjoy working with special education students - they help me grow as a true teacher.
I have many years of personal experience of learning how to study. I was learning them from my teachers and classmates when I was in an elementary and high school. I was always trying to find different ways to learn and different ways to study. I knew that I had to be well prepared for college because if I would not know how to study, it would take me much longer time to graduate. Now, I am a math teacher who, for the last few years, teaches her students the most efficient ways to study. You can gain these skills too, if you want to. You decide.
I played volleyball for many years when I was in a high school. At that time, we had a team and we played other teams from our school and other schools. After high school, I played volleyball with my friends whenever we could. I enjoy volleyball and I consider it my favorite sport that I am good at.
Now, do you want to play with me or against me? You choose.
